Effect of Application of Benson Relaxation on Pain Reduction in Postoperative Patients with Benigna Prostate Hyperplasia at Dr. Soekardjo Hospital

Abstract

Benign Prostate Hyperplasia is an enlargement of the prostate organ which generally occurs in adult men over 50 years of age. The most common complaint felt by Benign Prostate Hyperplasia sufferers is difficulty urinating which causes pain, ultimately requiring surgery, which causes pain caused by the surgical procedure. To reduce the pain caused by surgical procedures, Benson relaxation therapy is provided. The aim of this case study is to determine nursing care in reducing pain by providing Benson relaxation in post-operative patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia. The method used is a case study involving two respondents selected according to the criteria, namely post-operative patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia with the application of Benson relaxation, in accordance with the SPO by integrating the values ​​of Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan. The results of the case study during 3 days of implementing virginity care, both respondents experienced a decrease in the pain scale, respondent 1 experienced a decrease from a pain scale of 6 (0-10) to 0 (0-10), while respondent 2 experienced a decrease from a pain scale of 5 (0 -10) becomes 0 (0-10). The conclusion is that the application of Benson relaxation has been proven to reduce pain in post-operative patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia. Suggestions for nursing care to be published in nursing care journals.
