Abstract

The curriculum in the world of education is the basis for carrying out learning in the classroom. This research aims to describe the implementation of the curriculum at a music course institution, namely Favore Music School Bandung. The curriculum used comes from Alfred’s Music which combines singing, listening and playing musical instruments. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data in the form of preparation, implementation and evaluation processes obtained from observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of this research show that this curriculum can be used practically for teachers because books and CDs are available that support learning using the characterization model. The curriculum uses a lockstep curriculum model approach, where children cannot continue learning at the next level while they have not reached the previous learning material. With the characteristics of children who are active in receiving and responding, the implementation of this curriculum needs to be managed well by teachers so that not only children adapt to the curriculum but also the curriculum can be adjusted to the child's abilities.
