Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the description of learning commitment in SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students based on grade level, gender and plan guidance and counselling programs to develop and
improve learning commitment in SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach method in order to reveal a picture of the learning commitment of SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students. The sample in this study used saturated sampling on SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students totalling 196 samples. The results of this study are an overview of the learning commitment of SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students who are in the high category reaching a percentage score of 83.67%. Students who are in the medium category with a percentage of 16.33%, while students who are
in the low learning commitment category show a percentage result of 0%. This means that some SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students already have a high learning commitment. Although some other students who are in the moderate category still need to be improved. The disadvantages of this study are that the sample is still limited so that it only knows the learning commitment of SMAIT Ummul Quro Tasikmalaya students and the differences in this study are only seen in terms of gender. So that the results of this study are still less diverse.
