This study aims to improve fine motor skills in children aged 5–6 years through the implementation of playdough cutting patterns activities at TK Kartika II.3 Palembang. The background of the study lies in the low fine motor abilities of children, particularly in cutting patterns, which are essential for writing readiness and daily activities. This research employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles involving planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings show a significant improvement in children’s fine motor skills. In the first cycle, 13 out of 19 children (68.42%) reached the “Developing as Expected” category, and in the second cycle, all children (100%) reached the “Very Well Developed” category. These results indicate that the use of playdough cutting patterns is an effective learning strategy for enhancing fine motor skills in early childhood education through fun and meaningful learning experiences.
