Abstract

Stunting is a serious health problem in Indonesia, especially in children under five, caused by chronic malnutrition from the womb to the age of two. The government has made various efforts to prevent stunting, including through nutrition interventions and supplementary feeding. This article discusses the innovation of oyster mushroom nugget-based supplementary feeding in Pataruman Village, Banjar City, as one of the strategies to prevent stunting. Oyster mushrooms were chosen due to their high nutritional content, including protein, vitamins and minerals that are essential for children's growth. This study used a qualitative approach with interviews, observations and group discussions to explore community perceptions and the effectiveness of this innovation. The results showed that oyster mushroom nuggets are well received by the community and have great potential in supporting stunting prevention. This innovation also has a positive impact on local economic empowerment, especially for mushroom farmers and small business actors. This article recommends further development and policy support to expand the application of this innovation as a sustainable solution in stunting prevention in Indonesia.
